On the remains of Kainua – “the (new) city” – founded by the Etruscans on what was left of an even older settlement, music will reconstruct the setting to host us, as Chiara Zaccaria and Murcof shape its architecture: “Sounds in the Necropolis.”
ROBOT16 will quite literally take shape in the Etruscan city of Marzabotto, an exceptional example of urban planning, now an archaeological site that allows visitors to relive the atmosphere of a cityscape made of houses, streets, temples, and workshops. The eastern necropolis is open to the public, a theatrical setting of around 50 casket tombs and symbolic markers, including egg-shaped ones.
On Saturday, September 13, “Sounds in the Necropolis” will be an ambient and electroacoustic music event featuring Murcof (Fernando Corona), pioneer of minimal electronics, and Chiara Zaccaria, harpist, producer, and sound artist from Bologna.
