Details

On the remains of Kainua – “the (new) city” – founded by the Etruscans on what was left of an even older settlement, music will reconstruct the setting to host us, as Chiara Zaccaria and Murcof shape its architecture: “Sounds in the Necropolis.”

ROBOT16 will quite literally take shape in the Etruscan city of Marzabotto, an exceptional example of urban planning, now an archaeological site that allows visitors to relive the atmosphere of a cityscape made of houses, streets, temples, and workshops. The eastern necropolis is open to the public, a theatrical setting of around 50 casket tombs and symbolic markers, including egg-shaped ones.

On Saturday, September 13, “Sounds in the Necropolis” will be an ambient and electroacoustic music event featuring Murcof (Fernando Corona), pioneer of minimal electronics, and Chiara Zaccaria, harpist, producer, and sound artist from Bologna.

For the first time in the history of the site’s necropolis, a dialogue between sound and stone. A sensory experience that transcends the visible and the audible.

The event is free, with the purchase of the museum entrance ticket (€3 full price) to be made on-site on the day of the performance.

Register now on Eventbrite and arrive early on the day of the event: you’ll be able to visit the “Pompeo Aria” Etruscan Museum, which houses original artefacts from the necropolis and the Etruscan settlement, and join (at 6 PM) a free guided tour of the archaeological area led by the museum’s staff.
